Build#1 Ecto-1
We here at Projects In Progress do Specialize in scale vehicle building all the time. We build them just like what the TV series or movies did.
We started out with a Newer Re-issued 1/24 Snap kit for this build. But here at PIP we do custom builds.
This little 1/24 scale has a lot of detail planed for in it. Alot of parts will be retooled and parts will be scratch built as while.
Here is a 1/24 Ecto that was built decades before along with the model box & art for this build in the background.
Here is the kit box art and kit that will be used for this build.
Here is the start of the build of Build#1 Ecto-1A
Planing the correction lines here to correct the roof.
Here the cutting work has started, as you can see in the right side photo.
Some of the filling of the gaps here has started.
You can see here just what kind of work PIP does to bring a scale model to life. Here is the start of rising of the roof area.
Once the filling was done and sanded down. Was the primer time. PIP likes to use ColorPlace & Krylon paints. Once the primer was layed down and dried. It was time for marking out the correct locations of the roof flashers. On each end of the raised roof right at the corners, a little area was counter sunked to mark the NEW and CORRECT locations. The same locations like the real car has in the 1984 film.
Once the New flasher holes was marked out, the tape came back off and more sanding was done. Now was time for the glass and correcting that window linement up to the front windshield or as the UK calls it the windscreen. The white is Evergreen stock bought on line, is square stock.
