“1/16 South Dixie Charger”
This project idea started back in 2009 but then went cold turkey. Then in 2018 the subject came back up once again.. and at the time there was no 3D printing. The project was discussed. With the re-release of the old kit. People thought the kit would be way more accurate then in the 1980’s. BUT once receiving the kit and opening the kit. It was notice it was the same old kit of the 1980’s. Projects In Progress knew a lot of rework would be needed to bring the build into the 2000’s and make it way more street accurate!
Now about this build here. It’s base on a real car, a street General Lee replica charger. The chassis and interior will need to be scratch built for in this lovely scale replica of a 1/16 General Lee. The shell will need to be corrected, engine bay will need to be built. Gas tank needed to be corrected as while. So let the fun began!
Now as you can see on the shell and chassis there is a lot of detail missing. There is no drip rail mold-in very much if any! There is no rear window trim at all! There is NO end cap pieces on the tail light panel!
Here is the shell out side of the kit. Now here as you can see on the shell and chassis there is a lot of detail missing. There is no rear window trim at all! There is NO end cap pieces on the tail light panel! The chassis is NASCAR designed which is one thing we don’t want on this build. Nor the front wheel well openings that big!
See NO end cap lines! ------------------------->
